This award will be bestowed upon THREE (3) exceptional undergraduatestudents participating in the 2024 Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities (URECA)program. The selected poster presentations are expected to focus on issues within the realmof multilingual and intercultural communication and to exhibit not only remarkable qualitybut also the potential for intellectual and social impact, as determined by MIC faculty judges.The award includes a certificate, a noteworthy mention in campus news and related social media channels, and a $250 gift certificate. Instructions for Participation OverviewRegistrationInformation for ParticipantsPrinting of Posters • Please add "MIC@10" at the beginning of your project title (for example, "MIC@10:The Use of Western Names by Non-Westerners") Evaluation Criteria 1. relevance, significance, and originality of the research topic for multilingual andintercultural communication2. use of appropriate theory and demonstration of adequate knowledge of prior research3. appropriateness, effectiveness, and originality of research design (instruments,techniques, and procedures)4. appropriateness of interpretations (demonstrating evidence and acknowledginglimitations)5. clarity and effectiveness of the poster6. clarity and effectiveness of the in-person interactive presentation 7. potential for research and social impact on improving the conditions of individuals,groups, and/or societies in the world   Evaluation Procedures On the day of URECA (April 30), three MIC Faculty Judges will engage in dynamic discussionswith student researchers about their projects. Following these interactions, each judge willprovide individual assessments, rating and ranking the posters and the in-personpresentations.
